Red Storm blank Bobcats

ELLENBURG — The Saranac Lake volleyball team claimed a sweep Monday, defeating Northern Adirondack on the road by 25-20, 25-20 and 25-23 scores.

Sydney Andronica turned in another strong defensive performance for the Red Storm and finished with 16 digs. Katie Gay and Marissa Gibbs paced Saranac Lake on offense with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Gibbs also finished with nine digs in the win.

Chloe Smith paced the Bobcats with 10 points, and Alexis Kerr chipped in nine points, five kills, five digs and four aces.

The win was the second straight for Saranac Lake, which improved to 6-5 in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference play. The Red Storm will be back in action today, hosting Northeastern Clinton with the varsity match slated to start at approximately 6 p.m.
