SARANAC LAKE — The 2017 Saranac Lake Fun Run Series came to a close Thursday with races starting and finishing in Riverside Park.

The Fun Runs began June 29 and took place every Thursday throughout the summer. The 10-week series provided runners of all ages free races that ranged in distance from a quarter-mile, half-mile and 1-mile up to 5 miles. There were five different courses used throughout the season.

The final week ended with the “LaPan Loops,” which took runners west on state Route 3 before returning to Riverside Park through the neighborhoods of Saranac Lake.

The series was organized by volunteers and sponsored by the village of Saranac Lake and the Kiwanis Club of Saranac Lake.
