Wednesday was the classic sprint, where the competitors raced one lap around the Mount Van Hoevenberg Nordic trails and had to finish inside the top 30 amongst their divisions to qualify.

Landa was the lone NYSEF athlete to crack the top 30 mark and advanced to the quarterfinals. She just missed out on a semifinal spot after placing fifth in her quarterfinals heat. The top two from each heat advance to the semifinal round.

On Friday, the racers will compete in a classic mass start. The U16 division will compete in a 5K race, the U18 will be a 10K while the U20 division is a 15K. On Saturday, the competitors will compete in a 4x3K freestyle relay race. The first race for both days will start at 9 a.m.
