Monday’s varsity sports competitions postponed

For five varsity Tri-Lakes spring sports teams, their season openers will have to wait.

All scheduled competitions for the Lake Placid and Saranac Lake varsity sports teams on Monday were postponed because of the weather. The Tupper Lake spring sports teams did not have any events scheduled on Monday.

The Lake Placid boys and girls tennis home match against Saranac Central scheduled for Monday has been postponed to Thursday. The match will now take place on Thursday at the Lake Placid Municipal Tennis Courts at 3:30 p.m.

The Blue Bombers baseball and softball team’s home games against the Crown Point Panthers were rescheduled to next Monday (April 24) at 4:30 p.m.

The Saranac Lake varsity softball road game which was slated for Monday against Northern Adirondack will now take place on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. The Red Storm’s junior varsity softball game was canceled.

Tuesday’s games

The Lake Placid and Saranac Lake varsity track and field teams will have home meets Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. The Blue Bombers will take on Moriah/Boquet Valley, while the Red Storm will face Peru and Ticonderoga.

Along with the Saranac Lake varsity softball team will open, the Red Storm varsity baseball squad will travel for its season opener Tuesday. The Saranac Lake baseball team will take on AuSable Valley at 4:30 p.m.

The Saranac Lake Placid girls varsity lacrosse team will travel to Heuvelton for its second game of the season. The game will start at 6 p.m.
