To the editor:

Ashley Milne is a tremendous candidate for Harrietstown Town Council.

Ashley grew in a small town in Idaho but has spent many years traveling to and living in different cities. Eventually, her small-town roots had her searching for the right place to raise her children, and she found it in Saranac Lake.

Since moving here, she has fully embraced the community and is taking advantage of everything it has to offer. She is also giving back because she recognizes that community spirit and volunteerism is one of those characteristics that makes our community so special.

Ashley is on the Adirondack Carousel board and is an active member of Kiwanis and the Saranac Lake Parks and Trails Advisory Board. She also volunteers at the youth center and is active in her local church congregation.

She also has significant relevant experience. While this is her first run at elected office, Ashley has legislative experience working in the New York State Assembly and the Scottish Parliament. At the NYS Assembly she interned for a member who represented a rural upstate district, so she is no stranger to the challenges we face.

Ashley Milne is ready to serve Harrietstown and has the qualifications to do a great job. Let’s give her that chance!
