To the editor:

I am pleased that my first-ever letter to the editor is written in support of Jim Murnane, candidate for District 7 Franklin County legislator. For as long as I have known Jim, he has worked tirelessly and unselfishly in support of his community. He has given freely of his time whenever called upon. He has done so without seeking thanks or publicity. It is only because I have known Jim personally that I am aware of the extent of his hard work behind the scenes for many of our area’s programs, particularly those which support the youth of our community. Organizations such as Tri-Lakes Youth Lacrosse, Saranac Lake Youth Basketball and St. Bernard’s School have benefitted from his time and generosity.

Jim has already established himself as a successful businessman, family man and community volunteer. At a time in his life when Jim could easily step back from such efforts, he has instead stepped forward. His business experience, combined with his time as a member of the Harrietstown Town Council and numerous volunteer positions give Jim the necessary background to understand and represent all aspects of the area’s interests.

I have witnessed Jim’s hard work and commitment to his community, family and friends for many years. We would be well served by Jim as our representative to the Franklin County legislature.
