To the editor:

I am writing in support of my friend Lindy Ellis for Franklin County legislator. My personal support of her dates back to a time when she was advocating for the establishment of a skatepark in Saranac Lake. I was curious why Lindy, someone without obvious connections to skateboarding, would be so dedicated in her promotion of this project. And so I point-blank asked her why she was so passionate about the skatepark. She told me that not every child thrives in team sports and that there was a defined need in our community to provide a venue for such kids to participate in individual activities and sport, giving them opportunities for enhanced self-esteem and success. It struck me then, and continues to this day, that Lindy has a unique ability to assess the needs of her local community and to advocate for and pursue opportunities which may not seem to be the obvious. I believe this is the essence of how Lindy approaches community service.

Lindy continuously seeks local input and listens to her constituents.

She has a track record of following through and achieving results.

The role of a Franklin County legislator is to assess community needs and to wisely use our Franklin County taxes to best serve our community.

I have great faith that Lindy Ellis has the smarts, the analytical skills and the dedication to continue to fulfill this role. Please cast your vote in November for Lindy Ellis for Franklin County legislator.
