Kaltenbach for town highway superintendent

To the editor:

I support Gary Kaltenbach, who is running for town of North Elba highway superintendent. Gary is a longtime resident of the North Country. He brings to the office of superintendent a wealth of skills and knowledge. Gary has been with the Essex County Highway Department for 30 years. Prior to being hired at the highway department in 1985, he attended Ohio Diesel Technical School, and upon graduation, he returned to Lake Placid and worked for Whiteface Mountain, maintaining the grooming equipment. Along with ability to repair all types of vehicles and small engines, Gary possesses vast welding skills.

Gary is a hands-on supervisor, and if elected, he will not be in the office. You will see Gary out at the job sites, driving throughout the town surveying the needs and speaking to the residents. Gary will have an open-door policy and will want to hear from the residents of the town. He is also a licensed motor vehicle inspector and has a Class A driver’s license. Gary has expressed he is very familiar with the roads and highways of the area and is aware of the needs throughout the town of North Elba.

Gary has raised three children in the town of North Elba. He is an avid hunter, kayaker and cross-country skier. Gary also enjoys downhill skiing and mountain hiking.

Thank you.
