SARANAC LAKE – For more than 30 years, Ken and Laurel Youngblood have bicycled their way up, down and across four continents. Until two years ago, the US embargo on traveling to Cuba kept them from touring there. Tired of a dream too long deferred, they found a way. On Saturday, Sept. 15 at 7:30 p.m., they will show a slide presentation on their 12-mile an hour view of life.

In what Ken and Laurel consider their best trip ever, come listen and see what they learned during this two-month cycling adventure including finding out about its people and their ways, hearing the history behind what they witnessed and finding out how the US embargo of all things Cuban has shaped and misshaped the country. They will also discuss casas particulars, or private homestays, and how they are the key to inexpensive lodging, gourmet meals, local dialogues, personalized itineraries and a trip that will give travelers the most affordable upfront and personal experience.

This program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call 518-891-7117.
