(Editor’s note: This art show, originally scheduled to open Friday at the Adirondack Artists’ Guild, has been postponed until February.)

SARANAC LAKE — The Adirondack Artists Guild will host the Guild’s 2017 juried art show winner, Lynn Manning of Peru, as its featured artist for the month of February.

The show opens with a reception with a new date of Friday, Feb. 2 from 5 to 7 p.m., and will run through Feb. 28.

Manning graduated from Plattsburgh State University with a BA in art and a master of science in education. She taught high school art locally for 31 years. She enjoyed introducing her students to the joys of making art. Now in retirement, she has the opportunity to create art for herself, and to enjoy the artistic community as a practicing artist, instead of as an educator.

Her goal is to personally explore in depth as many areas of the Adirondack Park as possible, and to record the discoveries onto paper and canvas.

She is currently taking part in the Plein Air scene, moving from quick watercolor sketches into oil painting and finding it completely addictive. Plein Air gives her the perfect excuse to get out and explore in the Adirondacks.

Her work has been shown in numerous juried art shows in New York and Vermont.

Starting at $19.00/week.
