LAKE PLACID – The Lake Placid Center for the Arts will present a preview of Manual Cinema’s newest work, “The End of TV,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 16.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door, and are available by calling the box office at 518-523-2512 or online at www.lakeplacidarts.org.

Manual Cinema combines shadow puppetry, theatricality, cinematic techniques, innovative sounds and live music to create immersive stories.

The company uses classic overhead projectors, humans and silhouettes to create a one-of-a-kind theatre experience that feels like being at an animated movie, but a frame-by-frame live construction.

“This Chicago troupe is conjuring phantasms to die for …” said Ben Brantley of The New York Times.
