To the editor:

The Hanmer Committee is proud to announce that the Saranac Lake Kiwanis Club will sponsor ALL of the junior classes entered in the July 6 Willard Hanmer Guideboat and Canoe Races.

The Kiwanis mission — to “improve the world by empowering communities and making lasting differences in the lives of children” — and the Hanmer Committee’s mission to get everyone back on the water, are a perfect match.

The juniors, ages 16 and under, are in kayak, canoe and Guideboat classes. The entry fee for these classes will be paid for by the Saranac Lake Kiwanis Club resulting in kids racing for free.

Kayak and canoe rentals are available from local outfitters and several boats having been donated for use during the race.
