SARANAC LAKE — A day after scoring twice in the third period while rallying to a 2-2 tie with undefeated Salmon River, the Saranac Lake Placid girls hockey team couldn’t repeat that success during a 4-1 loss to Massena Thursday at the Saranac Lake Civic Center.

The Red Raiders scored two goals in the first period and added another pair in the second to take a 4-0 edge before Ireland Preston finally put SLP on the board with the only goal of the third period.

Massena outsot SLP 33-21.

SLP fell to 2-3-3 with the loss.
