To the editor:

Last Wednesday, my husband and I were walking in the woods on the Jackrabbit Trail with our dog and our daughter’s dog, a dachshund mix. Near the end of our hour-long walk, we discovered that our daughter’s dog wasn’t with us. We retraced our steps, called, whistled, did everything we could think of before it got dark outside and we started for home in our car. We decided to head up the hill to Will Rogers just in case the dog had run up there. My husband went into Will Rogers and spoke with Debbie Kanze and Swarren Lohr, employees. By golly, yes, a woman across the road named Sean had found the dog! We couldn’t believe it! We did have to go to the animal shelter in Lake Placid the next day to retrieve the dog, but we are so grateful to everyone who went out of their way to get the dog home. I’m so glad that I didn’t have to explain to our daughter that we’d lost her dog. Thank you, everyone!
