Rand understands Lake Placid

To the editor:

I am writing in support of Jay Rand’s candidacy for supervisor of the town of North Elba.

I grew up with Jay in the Hillcrest Avenue neighborhood of Lake Placid. This neighborhood no longer exists due to the proliferation of mini-hotels on the Hillcrest strip and the adjacent side streets. I am confident that Jay will ensure that laws and codes will be enacted and enforced in order to prevent further erosion of town and village neighborhoods.

Beyond that, Jay’s extensive experience in town and village government, along with his work experience at the Olympic Regional Development Authority and New York Ski Education Foundation make him eminently qualified to understand and navigate the complexity of the office of supervisor. He is respected throughout Essex County, which will enable him to work effectively with the other county supervisors. His passion for his hometown and devotion to the community are clear in the service he has provided over the years and his willingness to continue to tackle the issues of our town. He truly understands the soul of the community.

Very truly yours,

John B. Huttlinger Jr.
