To the editor:

Lindy Ellis, our current legislator representing the towns of Franklin and Harrietstown, has proven to be a strong voice in Franklin County government. Lindy is always reaching out to those she serves to understand their needs. Eager to meet her neighbors and ever attentive to individual’s problems, Lindy uses her energy, knowledge and perseverance to get solutions. We see signs of her advocacy all around us: at the airport, safer pedestrian crosswalks, a stronger community college with a new president, resources for our youth and by getting county routes 47 and 55 on the top of the county’s repaving list.

I have known Lindy for 10 years and worked closely with her to build the Saranac Lake SkatePark. She has contributed to the community since her arrival here, including the Saranac Lake Local Development Corporation, the Franklin County Industrial Development Agency and the Franklin County Traffic Safety Board, and as chairman of the Parks and Trails Advisory Board.

Lindy is a person who will learn all she can on any issue so we can be confident that she is working toward the best solution, improving the community with fiscal responsibility.

Lindy is doing an excellent job on the Franklin County legislature and works very well with her fellow legislators. We deserve the best. Please vote Lindy Ellis for legislator on Nov. 5.
