LONG LAKE — On Tuesday the Town of Long Lake Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department announced the winners of the Long Lake Photo Contest, held between Aug. 24 and Sept. 30.

The contest was open to any style of photograph including landscapes, wildlife, and candids. Pictures were required to be taken at specific locations in Long Lake and Raquette Lake. In Long Lake the three locations were the Mount Sabattis Recreation Area, Cedarlands Easement Area and Fishing Brook Access. In Raquette Lake the two locations were Brown’s Tract and Golden Beach.

More than 170 photographs were submitted, and after much deliberation, three winners were selected for each town. The first-place photos will be put on display for the year. The finalists are as follows:

First place in Long Lake went to Anthony Miller for his wildlife photo of spiderwebs on a log in the Cedarlands Easement Area. Runners-up for Long Lake were Dominick Chiuchiolo for his photo of Fishing Brook Access and Shane Holmes for his photo from the top of Mud Pond Mountain in the Cedarlands Easement.

First place in Raquette Lake went to Michelle Hicks for her night shot from Golden Beach, followed by runners-up Erin Porter for her photo, also from Golden Beach, and Sandra Bolos for her shot from Brown’s Tract.
