ALCA presents livestream recital by Luzerne Music Center violinist Madeleine Jansen on Aug. 7
BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE — The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts has gone virtual this summer with its “ALCA-Seltzer Series: Online Relief from the Headaches of Social Distancing.”
Coming up, the next ALCA-Seltzer Stream: a recital by violinist Madeleine Jansen on August 7 at 7 p.m. Links to this livestream can be found on the Arts Center’s Facebook page or on the ALCA website, www.adirondackarts.org.
Donations of $10 (or whatever you can pay) are suggested to view these livestreams.
Madeleine Jansen has been a violin instructor at the Luzerne Music Center in Lake Luzerne, NY, for the past five years. Maintaining a large and active private studio during the year in New York City, Madeleine also keeps busy as a performer. Not only an amazing classical musician, Madeleine has also performed with Michael Bublé, Rod Steward, Josh Groban, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and on NBC’s Today Show.
Madeleine’s program will include the Telemann Fantasia No. 7 in E flat major, Piazzolla’s Tango Etudes No. 3 and 4, Biber’s Passacaglia in G minor, and Prokofiev’s Solo Violin Sonata, Op. 115.
Other upcoming ALCA-Seltzer Streams will include “Shakespeare on Pause, Part II” on August 14 and “The Show Must Go On,” a mini-concert by Summer Theatre Festival musical performers on August 21. Previous livestreams of a concert by pianist Nicole Wang and “Shakespeare on Pause, Part I” are still online and available for viewing at the links above.
The ALCA-Seltzer Series, begun in March, includes videos of performers and other talented folks (ALCA-Seltzer Shorts), workshops, and livestreams, keeping the Arts Center connected while our building is closed during the COVID-19 crisis. Go to the Arts Center’s website or YouTube Channel to view all of the videos.
The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts is generously supported by the New York State Council on the Arts, business and individual sponsors, and its members. The ALCA-Seltzer Series and Adirondack Lakes Summer Theatre Festival are also sponsored by David Myers in memory of Anne Vaccaro and Jayson Grigsby.
