Saranac Lake’s own Sonic Boom (from left John Warchol, Ivan MacNamara, Jon LaPierre and Tiger Whitelaw) performed Kissmas V Alive charity shows on Dec. 7 at Bitters and Bones in Saranac Lake and on Dec. 14 at the Raquette River Brewing Company in Tupper Lake. Each year, the band performs a Kiss-themed charity show free of charge, along with a toy and food drive that benefits families, individuals or organizations experiencing difficulty. This year, cash proceeds went to a local man undergoing chemotherapy for stage III colon cancer. The Tupper Lake event benefitted the local food pantry and earned more than $1,000 for the cause. Earlier this year, Sonic Boom performed a benefit show for a local veterans group.
