Brews and tunes to benefit the loons
TUPPER LAKE — The Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation will host a fundraiser at the Raquette River Brewery in Tupper Lake Sunday, Sept. 8 from 3 to 6 p.m. to benefit Adirondack loons.
Music will be provided by Peter Etka and Company, and the Raquette River Brewery will be serving a special Crying Loon IPA by the Brewery of Broken Dreams to benefit the Loon Center’s conservation and research programs throughout the Adirondack Park. There will also be a raffle for a basket of Raquette River Brewery’s beer — anglers can bring in an ounce or more of lead fishing tackle in exchange for a free raffle ticket.
“We are most grateful to Raquette River Brewery for hosting this fun event to help support our loon conservation and research projects,” said Nina Schoch, director of Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation. “We look forward to sharing loon stories and enjoying great food and brews with everyone.”
There will also be a variety of loon games and trivia, a “Name the Loon Chick” contest, and a brief presentation on the “Unexpected Side of Adirondack Loons” by Schoch at 4:30 p.m.
