LPCA offers free theatre camp for first through 12th graders July 22-27

LAKE PLACID – The Lake Placid Center for the Arts will offer a free theatre day camp for students entering first grade through 12th grade from July 22 through 27, run by the national touring group Missoula Children’s Theatre.

Students cast in the show will spend the week rehearsing for a production of “Peter and Wendy,” which will culminate in two performances on Friday, July 26 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, July 27 at 10 a.m.

Auditions will be held on Monday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to noon. Those auditioning should arrive at 10 a.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. No advance preparation is necessary, but students should be prepared to stay until 2:15 p.m. that day, as some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition. There will be room for up to 50 to 60 participants, so all interested students are encouraged to audition.

Friends, family, and community members can purchase tickets to Peter and Wendy by calling the LPCA box office at 518-523-2512 or online at www.lakeplacidarts.org. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
