The Blind Owl Band hosts Party on the Patio

SARANAC LAKE – The Blind Owl Band rolls into the station for another Party on the Patio, Thursday, June 13 as the Waterhole Music Lounge debuts their newly renovated patio.

The Blind Owl Band hails from Saranac Lake. The quartet began playing music together at Paul Smith’s College in 2010.

“Playing Party on the Patio feels like a family reunion,” said Arthur Buezo (guitar, vocals). “It brings everyone out of the woodwork to collectively enjoy our community.”

Even though the quartet’s sound is rooted in traditional stringed instruments (guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass), their music surges forward with the strength and power of a hundred-ton diesel locomotive. Songs barrel down the tracks with momentum and intensity normally found in much heavier, amplified music.

“Although we look like a bluegrass band we are not,” explains co-founder Eric Munley (mandolin, vocals). “We use the instruments of our ancestors, but play music of our time.”

Party on the Patio is always a free event, every Thursday, with music from 6 to 10 p.m. for folks 21 and over.
