UPPER JAY – The Recovery Lounge will host a play reading “The Antipodes” by Annie Baker at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 9.

The presentation will include Casey Galligan, Brian LaVallee, Asa Thomas-Train, Sarah Kingzack, Gwen Vogel, Steven Wyatt, Alex Eaton, Tyler Nichols and Zack Clemens. It is directed by Scott Renderer.

This is a play about a group of Hollywood writers, brainstorming, telling stories about telling stories, trying to come up with the next big hit.

Pulitzer Prize-winner Annie Baker, who The New York Times has called “one of the freshest and most talented dramatists to emerge Off Broadway in the past decade,” has devised a play that possesses the same off-kilter qualities as episodes of “The Sopranos” and “Mad Men” that look at heavy psychological questions as opposed to furthering the plot.
