BluSeed seeks entries for Open Call art exhibit

SARANAC LAKE — BluSeed Studios, the multi-disciplinary arts center at 24 Cedar St., seeks entries for an annual Open Call art exhibit titled “One Earth!” (formally Abstraction) which will be on display in the gallery space from June 7 to July 6.

“‘One Earth!’ is an artistic interpretation of our one and only precious Mother Earth,” BluSeed’s Artistic Director Carol Vossler said. “This call is open to all genres and art-making media.”

There will be an opening reception at BluSeed Studios on Friday, June 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. Juried cash awards will be presented at the opening reception. Juror Corey Pandolph will be judging the show prior to the opening.

Corey Pandolph has been an internationally syndicated cartoonist who has had work published regularly in Mad Magazine and The New Yorker. He has done onscreen work for Comedy Central and his storyboards have found a home at VH1, MOTR animation and the major motion picture “Mapplethorpe.” Most recently, Pandolph has concentrated his efforts on spray painting larger murals in urban areas as well as abstract acrylics on canvas. He splits his time between Rainbow Lake and New York City.

BluSeed will accept the first 60, two-dimensional works and 15 sculptures on a first-come, first-served basis. BluSeed has the right to reject art that does not meet the stated eligibility requirements or does not meet BluSeed Studios professional standards.

Artwork can be hand delivered or shipped to BluSeed Studios from Thursday, May 30 through Saturday, June 1 between the hours of noon and 6 p.m.

More details for artists wishing to enter the Juried Show can be found on BluSeed Studios’ website at www.bluseedstuiods.org.
