‘The Art of Learning’ opens Friday at BluSeed

SARANAC LAKE — BluSeed Studios will feature a new art exhibition, “The Art of Learning,” opening Friday, March 15.

BluSeed Studios Artistic Director Carol Marie Vossler teamed up with area artists to put together this timely exhibit to draw attention to the possibility that the Saranac Lake School District may be eliminating one of two high-school art positions in the upcoming school year.

The exhibit will feature artwork made by art educators, their students, alumni from Saranac Lake High School and other schools, as well as area artists who value the importance of quality art programs in their local schools. The exhibit will include poster-size statements submitted from participants addressing the value of in-school art classes and how they have impacted their lives.

The gallery talk and open discussion will start at 5 p.m. during the reception, which runs from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 15. The community is invited to participate in this discussion which will focus on the importance of art-centered learning and how it benefits students and the district.

BluSeed Studios gallery hours are Monday through Friday 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays noon- 5 p.m. or by appointment.
