TUPPER LAKE — Ren and Willard are heading to Europe this summer for a once-in-a-lifetime tour as part of a select chorus, and they need the community’s help.

Tupper Lakers Noah Cordes and Bryce Davison, who starred as Ren McCormack and Willard Hewitt in the Red & Black Players’ recent production of “Footloose: The Musical,” have been accepted by the venerable organization American Music Abroad in the choral component of their Freedom Tour, which will be bringing music to towns and cities across Europe this summer, including Strasbourg, Salzburg, and Brugge.

Besides singing in historic sites throughout Europe and acting as musical ambassadors, the participants will also visit the Dachau concentration camp, visit Omaha Beach and the World War II memorial and museum, take a guided canal boat tour and a visit to a chocolate factory in Brugge, take a cruise along the Rhine River, visit the medieval towns of Heidelberg and Dinkelsbühl, take an excursion to Haut Konigsbourg Castle in France, take guided tours of Strasbourg, France, and Salzburg, Austria, (singing in the church where Mozart was married), participate in a Tyrolean Folk Fest, and take a trip via cable car to a glacier in the Austrian Alps.

American Music Abroad has been conducting these tours for 42 years, exposing more than 36,000 American students and young adults to incredible musical, cultural, and historical experiences around the world.

Those who are accepted into this prestigious chorus are responsible for all costs involved with the trip. This tour is an expensive undertaking, and Noah and Bryce are hoping that local businesses, civic clubs, neighbors, and friends will offer financial sponsorship to help them take advantage of this incredible opportunity as they proudly represent their Adirondack community.

Anyone interested in contributing to Noah and Bryce’s expenses for this tour can make tax deductible contributions online at their GoFundMe page. Go to: www.gofundme.com and type in: Noah & Bryce’s American Music Abroad Tour!

To send a check, make it out to Elizabeth Cordes, with “AMA” in the memo, and send it to AMA Tour, c/o Elizabeth Cordes, 15 Prospect Street, Tupper Lake, NY 12986.
