Gaffney’s ‘Lush Lands’ at Guild in February

SARANAC LAKE – “Lush Lands,” a collection of new landscape paintings by Georgeanne Gaffney, will be on display at the Adirondack Artists Guild Gallery Feb. 1-28.

An opening reception will be held at the Gallery on Friday, Feb. 1 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Working in a variety of mediums including acrylic, oil and encaustic, Georgeanne uses multiple layers of paints and glazes to summon dreamy, romantic images, rich in color and texture with an aged and atmospheric patina. She often works from photographs she takes while exploring the lush and dramatic mountains, rivers and bogs of the Adirondacks, as well as the waterways and wetlands of the Audubon sanctuary on Cape Cod.
