WILMINGTON – Once a year, Whiteface Mountain dusts off its lederhosen, fires up the oompah band and enjoys a tall mug of German beer.

Oktoberfest is a weekend-long celebration of Bavarian culture, with authentic music, dancing, food and beer. But it’s not just about eating and drinking. Attendees will find complimentary rides for kids and adults, craft vendors and discounted trips on the Cloudsplitter Gondola to the summit of Little Whiteface.

Juniors ages 12 and under can also enjoy free admission both days of the festival. All festival attendees must have an admission ticket for entry, so families are encouraged to get their free Junior Admission ticket(s) in advance online to avoid waiting at the ticket window. People may also choose to purchase a gondola ride add-on for Juniors ages 7-12 in advance online for $14 per person. Cloudsplitter Gondola Rides are free for Juniors ages 6 and under.

The cost for adults (ages 13+) varies. A one-day admission ticket plus gondola ride is $20 and can be purchased online only. A two-day admission package for adults is $35 (includes one gondola ride and a one-liter stein with Spaten beer coupon) and can be purchased online only. A bundle of five beer coupons (ages 21+) costs $25 and can be purchased online only.

Adult admission at the gate is $16 (ages 21-64). Senior/young adult one-day admission at the gate is $10 (for ages 65+ or ages 13-20). A gondola add-on is $16 at the gate. A bundle of five beer coupons (ages 21+) at the gate is $35.

Oktoberfest will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

No pets will be permitted at Oktoberfest. Only service dogs will be admitted.
