Lee, Floyd present cabaret Monday
LAKE PLACID – The Lake Placid Center for the Arts will present “Cabaret on the LPCA Stage: Denise Lee & Gary Floydon” Monday, June 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Denise Lee is an award-winning singer and actress with a powerful voice and a sassy and sensual performance style that has charmed theater, nightclub and television audiences for more than two decades. Inspired by legendary singers like Billie Holiday, Barbara Streisand and Martina McBride, Denise was selected as the Sammons Jazz Cabaret Artist of the Year in 2013.
Her other musical and theater performances include “The Sunshine Boys” with Dick and Jerry Van Dyke, “Crowns” directed by playwright Regina Taylor, “The Wiz,” “A Christmas Carol,” “Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill,” “Doubt,” “Avenue Q” and “Intimate Apparel.”
Her television and film acting credits include roles in “Mad Money” with Diane Keaton,
“Cowgirls ‘n Angels” with James Cromwell, “Dallas,” “Memphis Beat,” “Good Guys” and “The Lying Game” as well as numerous commercials and corporate industrials.
Gary Floyd is a singer-songwriter from Conroe, Texas. He was 4 years old when he began picking out melodies on the piano, and he’s been making music ever since. His blend of pop, country, and rhythm and blues creates a unique sound. You might recognize his song “If You Were The Only One,” recorded by Steve Archer, which landed at number one on the Christian Contemporary chart. His work “The Gospel of Zen” was nominated for three 2010 Out Music Awards, including Album of the Year. His latest single is “Music is the Meaning.”
He is also an actor and has appeared onstage in “Crimes of the Heart,” “The Full Monty,” “Pumpboys & Dinettes,” “Aida” and “Next To Normal.” He was recently featured on the TV series “Troubadour, TX.”
