SARANAC LAKE — Registration for the 18th Annual Adirondack Plein Air Festival, hosted by Saranac Lake ArtWorks and scheduled for Aug. 17 to 22, is now open.
The festival will feature six days of outdoor painting, including special events such as the Nocturne Contest, the “Paint the Town” Silent Auction, Meet the Artists Reception, Preview Party, Quick Draw Competition, and Show and Sale.
This year’s Awards Juror is Cynthia Rosen, an acclaimed Vermont-based plein air painter celebrated for her dynamic palette-knife technique, numerous national awards and frequent appearances at top plein air festivals.
Rosen will also lead a two-day workshop at the Paul Smith’s College Visitor Interpretive Center, offering interested artists an opportunity to learn directly from her just before the festival begins.
Interested artists ages 18 and older can apply for the festival through onlinejuriedshows.com. The selection committee will review submissions and choose 40 artists to participate, with 10 alternates in case of cancellations.
Registration will close on April 15. For more information, visit saranaclakeartworks.org.
