Edwards man wins Azure Mountain Friends raffle
ST. REGIS FALLS — William Hill of Edwards was the grand prize winner in a raffle conducted by Azure Mountain Friends in conjunction with the centennial of the fire tower on Azure Mountain.
The centennial was observed on July 29 in St. Regis Falls, where Hill won a watercolor painting of the mountain and tower donated by artist Sandra Hildreth of Saranac Lake. Hildreth is a member of the AMF Board of Directors.
Other winners were as follows:
≤ Eileen Winters of Potsdam won a poster of an Adirondack wilderness scene, photographed by Marguerite Mosher and donated by the SUNY Potsdam Wilderness Education Program.
≤ Joe Cutter of Longmont, Colorado, won an Amish-made gift basket consisting of books, notecards, homemade mittens, maple syrup and other local items, donated by the Laurentian Chapterof the Adirondack Mountain Club.
≤ Dale Trimm of Hemlock and John and Dorothy Cutter of Somers, Connecticut, won prints of the Hildreth painting.
≤ Robert Harvey of St. Johnsville and Mark Leuthauser of Hannawa Falls won Adirondack Peak Finders card sets that enable users to identify landmarks in view from the tops of several Adirondack mountains.
