“I Am Not My Disability, I Am ME!”

On Aug. 14, Suzanne, Shelby and 13-year-old black Labrador retriever Pepper Moore came to visit the Children’s Program at the Au Sable Forks Free Library. At age 11, she contracted diabetes and lost her sight from complications of the disease. Pepper, with the help of her nose, sharp ears and loving family, gets around just fine. Children visiting the library enjoyed Pepper’s heartening story and her affectionate nature. Her story, “Pepper Finds Her Way” by Suzanne and Shelby Moore, is available at the library.
