Local students become Iron Chefs

Farmin’ Chefs, a middle school team from Saranac Lake Central School District, prepare Farmers’ Pie at North Country Jr. Iron Chef 2017, which was held March 11. The competition is a regional event that spans Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties with 23 middle and high school teams competing to develop healthy recipes, using a combination of local and USDA (commodity) foods that could be realistically prepared in a school cafeteria.
