Storm boys hoops split games
SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake boys basketball team split its past two outings on Thursday and Friday.
The Red Storm first suffered a 59-54 overtime loss to the Northern Adirondack Bobcats on Thursday evening, before taking down the Schroon Lake/Newcomb Wild Huskies 70-54 at home Friday.
Cedar Crist paced Saranac Lake with 17 points on Thursday, while Zack McCarthy and Mik Denkenberger each added 14 points. The loss was the team’s third of the season and the second in overtime.
On Friday, the trio led the Red Storm again as Crist and Denkenberger scored 18 points, while McCarthy added 15. Connor Gillis also chipped in with 11 points.
Following the two-game stand, the Saranac Lake boys are now 12-3 overall and with a 7-2 overall league record. The team will host Peru at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
