Storm boys improve to 9-1
SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake boys basketball team defeated the AuSable Valley Patriots 53-45 on Tuesday evening in a league matchup.
The Red Storm was led by their trio of senior guards, as well as junior Alius Martelle, who returned to action to contribute 10 points on the offensive end.
With the win, Saranac Lake improves to 9-1 overall and 6-0 in league play. The team will return to action today at 7 p.m. against the Ticonderoga Sentinels on the road.

Boquet Valley 63, Lake Placid 44

The Lake Placid boys basketball team suffered a 63-44 loss to the Boquet Valley Griffins at home on Tuesday evening.
The Griffins jumped out to a 30-16 lead at halftime and hung on for the remainder of the way. Boquet Valley was led by Carson Leibeck, who scored a game-high 31 points.
The Blue Bombers’ Max Perez paced his team with 19 points, while Hugh Kissel and Caleb Wylie each added eight.
Lake Placid, which dropped to 2-8 overall, will hit the road for its next five games. The team will next take on Johnsburg/Minerva at 6:30 p.m. today.
