Sophomore Sophie Czadzeck paced Saranac Lake with 25 assists, 14 points, four digs and two kills. Meanwhile, senior Gracen Foster chipped in with 17 digs, 14 kills, nine points, one ace and one assist.

Up next, the Red Storm will travel to Clintonville to face the AuSable Valley Patriots at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Saranac Lake won both of its matches against the Patriots last season.

Lake Placid 3, NAC 1

In a rematch of last season’s Section VII, Class D championship, the Lake Placid volleyball team took down the Northern Adirondack Bobcats 3-1 on the road Thursday. The Blue Bombers won the season opener by scores of 25-16, 25-22, 16-25 and 25-21.

Seniors Brooke Meyer and sophomore Ellie Shipman had standout performances in the win. Meyer recorded nine kills, seven digs and five aces, while Shipman had 10 assists, eight digs, four aces and three kills.

The Blue Bombers will return home at 6 p.m. on Tuesday to face the perennial Section VII powerhouse, Beekmantown Eagles.
