LAKE PLACID — After postponing its race last week due to the weather, the third High Peaks Cyclery Mini Triathlon race series of the season was held on Monday evening at the Mirror Lake Beach.

For the third time this season, Elizabethtown native Kevin Bouchard-Hall was the overall men’s winner . Bouchard-Hall finished the race in 55 minutes, 52 seconds.

Saranac Lake’s Joe Merrihew finished in second place among the men’s triathletes in a time of 1:05:30, followed narrowly by Ben Stauffer of Nicholville in 1:05:59 for third.

While Elizabeth Izzo, who had won the past two women’s mini-triathlons, did not compete on Monday, her sister Anna Nyman was able to secure the victory. She finished in 1:15:28.

Emma Kieran of Saranac Lake finished as the runner-up, just a few seconds behind in 1:15:55. Karen Stauff of Nicholville placed third in 1:21:07.

In the team’s division, the squad of Helena Cordick, Roger Gocking and Nancie Battaglia turned in a time of 1:17:07 to earn the win.

The race series is hosted every Monday night until Aug. 11. This summer’s races start at 6:30 p.m. and feature a 400-yard swim in Mirror Lake, a 12-mile bike around the River Road Loop, and a 3-mile run down and back Mount Whitney Road.
