SARANAC LAKE — Saranac Lake Kiwanis recently announced the formation of the Kiwanis Community Sports Fund. Donated money assists local youth sporting groups who are fundraising for various needs and who have raised a significant portion of their stated goal.

Recipients thus far include Saranac Lake baseball and softball, as well as Tupper Lake JV basketball. All of the money raised by the Saranac Lake Kiwanis goes to youth needs and activities within the Saranac Lake school district. The Community Sports Fund differs. It is specifically designated to assist youth sports in the Tri-Lakes. The two funds do not mix and are not interchangeable. Kiwanis looks forward to meeting new applicants.

Donations to the fund are most welcome and are tax-deductible. Donors or applicants are encouraged to contact Kiwanis at saranaclakekiwanis@gmail.com, or by stopping by their 7:40 a.m. meeting, Thursdays, at The Blue Moon Cafe.
