LAKE PLACID — USA Luge announced on Friday the members of the 2025 National Team. The group features seven Olympic athletes with hopes to build on the team’s success from last season, which resulted in 11 medals and 67 top 10 World Cup finishes.

Women’s doubles

Lillehammer World Cup gold medalists Chevonne Forgan and Sophia Kirkby will hope to continue their success after a five-medal haul and overall third-place finish for the 2024-25 World Cup season. Forgan, of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and Kirkby, of Ray Brook, were the only U.S. team selected to participate in the Cortina track test this past March.

Also returning are Maya Chan of Chicago, Illinois and Sophia Gordon of Sussex, Wisconsin. After competing in select races last season, the duo looks to hit the podium after their first year of racing together. They finished 12th overall in the World Cup standings.

Men’s doubles

Olympians Zack DiGregorio of Medway, Massachusetts and Sean Hollander of Lake Placid will return after placing in the top 10 overall for the season.

Graduating from the Junior National Team are Marcus Mueller and Ansel Haugsjaa, who participated in select World Cup races last season with the National Team. During those competitions, the duo showed their potential as future stars. Mueller, of Brookfield, Wisconsin and Haugsjaa, of Framingham, Massachusetts, placed seventh overall in the World Cup rankings, despite missing several events.

Following an injury that ended their 2024-25 season early, 2024 World Championships team relay silver medalists Dana Kellogg of Chesterfield, Massachusetts and Frank Ike of Lititz, Pennsylvania will return to round out the U.S. men’s doubles presence leading up to the 2026 Winter Games.

Women’s singles

Three Olympians will be vying to return to another Games, with two-time Olympian Emily Sweeney, 2022 Olympian Ashley Farquharson and three-time Olympian Summer Britcher on deck for the upcoming season. They will be joined by Emma Erickson, who is back for a second year on the National Team.

Sweeney, of Lake Placid, enters her 14th year with the National Team after placing 13th overall on a reduced World Cup schedule, where she brought home three World Cup and two World Championships medals.

Farquharson, of Park City, Utah, earned a World Cup team relay bronze medal in Altenberg last season and finished seventh overall. She will join Britcher, of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania, who had four top 10 finishes and placed 14th overall on the season. Rounding out the women’s team is Erickson, of Park City, Utah, who competed in seven World Cup races last year and finished 35th overall.

Men’s singles

Olympian Jonny Gustafson of Massena returns following a strong 15th overall season finish. He is joined by three-time Olympian Tucker West (Ridgefield, Conn.), who is returning for his 12th season on the World Cup tour following two top 10 finishes and an overall 14th place finish last year.

Also returning is Aidan Mueller of West Islip, who raced with the National Team in select competitions last season and finished 29th overall. Matt Greiner of Park City, Utah, who finished 34th overall last season, dealt with an injury that shortened his season. Hunter Harris of East Fairfield, Vermont finished 37th overall.

The upcoming World Cup season will kick off in Igls, Austria, before back-to-back races in the U.S., starting in Park City, Utah from Dec. 12 to 14 and in Lake Placid from Dec. 19 to 21. The Opening Ceremony for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano-Cortina, Italy, are scheduled for Feb. 7, 2026.

Starting at $4.75/week.
