Bombers softball falls to NCCS

LAKE PLACID — The Lake Placid softball team suffered a 14-3 loss to the Northeastern Clinton Cougars on Saturday evening at home.

The Blue Bombers led 1-0 through the first two innings before the Cougars rattled off seven straight runs, and essentially secured the victory.

Northeastern Clinton’s Tess Dumas recorded nine strikeouts while giving up just two hits. Teammate Kylee Suprenant added a pair of hits, which included a triple.

Lake Placid’s Lilli Draper started on the mound and pitched six innings before Willow Wood entered in relief in the seventh. The duo allowed 10 hits.

The Blue Bombers will return to their home diamond at 4:30 p.m. today to face the Boquet Valley Griffins.
