SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake volleyball team defeated the AuSable Valley Patriots 3-1 on the road Thursday. The Red Storm, which improved to 8-3 overall, won by scores of 22-25, 25-11, 25-20 and 25-16.

Saranac Lake’s Lexie Donaldson led her team defensively and from the service line, recording 18 digs, 14 points and nine aces. Alice LaDue was the team’s top setter chipping in with a team-high 12 assists.

Gracen Foster had a standout performance, earning five digs, four assists, four blocks and four kills.

The Red Storm will host the undefeated Plattsburgh Hornets at 6 p.m. today.

The Beekmantown Eagles volleyball team flew past the host Lake Placid Thursday with a 3-0 victory. The Blue Bombers fell by scores of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-20.

Lake Placid’s Norah Galvin led her team both offensively and defensively. Galvin recorded 10 digs, eight assists, eight kills, one ace and one point.

Ireland Cassidy led the team with five points, while also adding five digs. Haileigh LaMare chipped in with four points, four kills and four digs.

The Blue Bombers, which dropped to 3-7 overall, will travel to Star Lake today at 6 p.m. to take on the Clifton-Fine Eagles.
