Champions crowned at Whiteface Club

LAKE PLACID — Four golfers were named Whiteface Club and Resort club champions on Saturday, Aug. 5.

Trevor Gilligan captured the men’s open division from the white tees firing 6 over par 77 on the demanding Whiteface Club track. He defeated Keith Clark by two shots.

Howard Gordon repeated as senior men’s champion, shooting 3 over par 74 from the gold tees. Brian McMannus was the runner-up at 79.

Caroline Roy, a multiple-time Whiteface Club women’s champion, added to her resume with another title, posting 87 to take the open division.

The senior ladies’ title was claimed by Chris Barth with an 89.

With the club championships now decided, next on the Whiteface Club’s agenda is hosting the NYS Golf Association’s Senior and Super Senior Amateur Championships set for Aug. 21 to 23.
