SARANAC LAKE — Local New York Ski Educational Foundation athletes Cecilia Norfolk and Sam Miemis won the U12 Mountain Council Kombi race as part of the Empire State Winter Games Kombi at Mount Pisgah in Saranac Lake. The race was delayed a week due to a scheduling issue and was held on Feb. 11.
Norfolk also tied for first in the skills competition. Throughout the day athletes trained scored skills including corridor, pole hoppers and picket fence scored by New York State Ski Racing Association — NYSSRA’s Stephen Mergenthaler. The race included three runs, scoring went to place points from the best two of three.
