To the editor:

I am writing in support of Kelly Brunette for mayor. This is a critical time for our village — and this country –to have people in place in governance that are smart, capable and collaborative. Ms. Brunette has all three strengths.

It is only recently that I got to meet and get to know Ms. Brunette. About a month ago, I had raised a concern with her — me, a complete stranger — and she took my concern to heart. She found time to write me, personally visit my business in downtown Saranac Lake, listen to my worries and suggestions and really take the subject into consideration. I left our meeting feeling that Kelly had really heard me, cared about what I was expressing, and would make good decisions moving forward taking into account some of my observations. During our meeting, she spoke about her deep experience in working for the village and for the region, showing with a genuine care and concern for the best interests for the area and for the people who live here. I was impressed.

It’s the perfect time for the residents of Saranac Lake to act with fiscal prudence, with careful forward-thinking strategies, and with solid civics by voting in Kelly Brunette for Mayor of Saranac Lake. Please join me in voting for Kelly to be mayor of our beautiful, heart-of-a-mountain-lion village.
