Thoughts on the Guthrie abduction
To the editor:
It is standard operating procedure in any abduction case to demand proof that the person taken is still alive.
Three points: First, why not show a picture of Nancy Guthrie that is time sensitive, say, have her hold a current newspaper? Second, where did Kash Patel go? It’s like he hasn’t got a script, so he doesn’t know what to say about this case. Third, in any kidnapping case, tips are often sought from the public.
Here’s what I said to the FBI: that the people who took Nancy had a caretaker in their midst. This person or persons who broke into the Guthrie house only later discovered they had a famous person’s mother. I think the local TV station was chosen so Nancy could see her daughter to reassure her that her daughter was dealing with them — I mean, the kidnappers.
