Thanks From Women’s Civic Chamber
To the editor:
The Women’s Civic Chamber of Saranac Lake is deeply grateful for the remarkable generosity displayed by our community during our recent Winter Carnival fundraisers: the 50/50 Cash Raffle at the Coronation on Friday, Feb. 6, and the Fabulous, Frozen Cornhole Tournament at voco Saranac Lake NY — Waterfront on Fb. 7.
Thanks to your raffle ticket purchases and the participation of 30 teams in the chilly cornhole tournament, we raised nearly $2,000. Every dollar raised supports our local activities, events, and donations. Since 2010, we’ve contributed over $106,000 back into this wonderful community we are proud to call home.
The top teams in the cornhole tournament were: 1st Place — The King and I (Tim and Mike Burpoe); 2nd Place — Slippery Sacks (Sam and Jeff Chambers); 3rd Place — Scooby Snack Bags (Liz Cerminara and Trevor Carpenter); 4th Place – Swiper, No Swiping…the Points! (Samantha Dora and Chelsea LaFountain). The best team costume award was shared between The King and I and Swiper, No Swiping.
Special thanks go to voco Saranac Lake NY — Waterfront for hosting, IPW 101 for its ice work, and our generous prize donors: Meachele Manchester Photography, Ampersand Spa at the Hotel Saranac, RiverTrail Beerworks, and The Wild Center. We are truly honored to live in such a supportive and caring community.
Sincerely,
Marty Lawthers
