Two outs and no bench
To the editor:
During a recent “60 Minutes” television interview, Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has been critical of Trump for not focusing on domestic issues, stated: “I watched many of my colleagues go from making fun of him, making fun of how he talks … to when he won the primary in 2024, they all started — excuse my language … kissing his ass.” Greene said that Republicans are “terrified to step outta line and get a nasty Truth Social post on them.”
Greene wrote on X that when she forwarded “assassination threats on my son to President Trump [after she criticized him] … he responded with harsh accusatory replies and zero sympathy.”
Trump called her a “washed up … ranting lunatic … low IQ traitor,” triggering, Greene noted, death threats with some calling her Marjorie Traitor Greene.
The two most vocal critics of Trump have been women — Greene and former Republican House member Liz Cheney of Wyoming. Unfortunately, the Republican “colleagues” Greene referred to (the Trump butt smoochers) don’t have the courage to confront the president publicly.
