To the editor:

The current chair people for the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Royalty Committee have started the process for the selection of the 2026 Winter Carnival King and Queen.

As the past chairs of that committee, we were extremely pleased with the number of nominations we received last year. We remain aware of the large number of citizens that are worthy of this honor. We simply want to remind everyone that just because your nominated citizen was not selected in the past is not an indication of their worthiness to be selected to serve.

We wish to remind everyone to please submit nominations by Jan. 20, following the procedure described in the press release in Adirondack Daily Enterprise on Jan. 8.
