The Red Hat Sonnet

MAGA brings mayhem and muddle, misrule and mistakes;

Assaults by masked agents, faces unseen;

Grifters and greed, chief exec on the take;

And anarchical anger makes America mean.

Misuse of power to settle old scores;

Attacks against truth; proclamations ungrounded in fact;

Great shows of pomp — vainglory, waste and eyesores;

America’s government scarcely intact.

Menace and mockery, like a mad English king’s.

All progress distorted in grim MAGA’s wake:

Guardrails are gone, guarantees not worth a fig.

Arise, Americans, your rights are at stake

Monarch in America? Get active; fight back

Move away from the gangsters in asinine hats.
