Holiday Helpers: The magic of Christmas
To the editor:
Once again, the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department’s annual toy drive kicked off the start of our Holiday Helper Program, collecting a trailer load of toys for us. It was immediately followed by a new event, a great concert by Frankie and the Moonlighters that collected more than enough batteries for all those toys. We are so very grateful to our community for their continued support and generosity, especially during the holiday season. More than 80 families, 140 children in the Saranac Lake Central School district will have an absolutely magical Christmas because of all of you.
There will be numerous toys, books, blankets, stuffed animals, games, puzzles, clothing and sports equipment for each child, in addition to an enormous food basket for each family. The parents we saw on Distribution Day were overwhelmed with the choices they were able to make in selecting the exactly perfect gifts for their children. Because you all cared. From our Holiday Helper Committee and volunteers, we wish you an amazing holiday season with family and friends. Thank you all for believing in the magic of Christmas.
